Not a bug, but could you add a sound and/or pop-up whenever your opponent elects to swap? Right now it just silently switches and your clock starts ticking...
It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.
that's more than a month later. I'll let this one run its course, I figure not many people will sign up, if at all, and the next tournament will be automatically scheduled around that time. Unless the next 2-3 people signing up chime in and are okay with that delay.
When you make a swap during 1st-5th moves and write a message, it is not being displayed. Instead, it is shown when opp makes his next move as his message.
I believe it is not only renju bug, it happens also in swap2 games as well.
a swap is also a move but not replayed when going back and forth in a game, I was going to just not allow messages during the opening phase to avoid the hassle, but haven't gotten to it yet
Actually it is important thing in history: what opening does this player prefer (which stone he plays after 2nd)? What 4th does he play in a particular opening? Which color will he take in a particular 5-moves pattern?
To answer these question, it should be possible to determine the whole sequence of moves and swaps. So the history of swaps made in the game should be at least stored and available.
Same for swap2 in any game: who put the opening? Was it an 2-stones-addition or opp have picked the color? It is far better when such answers are available.
I understand that it highly likely means some upgrades to DB and interface which may become quite complicated; well, at least I can make a request for it.
that information is recorded and can be recalled, though currently historical games are only shown with the final seating of the players.
The thing with the messages is that stone placements are recorded in a list, and message follow indices in that list. Swaps and even offered stones are recorded elsewhere.
With D-Pente and DK-Pente it's shown whether or not players swapped. With Swap2 and Renju I don't know yet how to visually present historical games. I'm open to suggestions.
As for messages, the quick and easy solution is to just disable them during the opening sequence.
